3 New Dress all for $55

So I just got in 3 new lovely dresses, one of which I have already worn. =) The black strapless denim dress to the right seems to be a fan favorite already, I'm taking one to my girlfriend this weekend (we are visiting them in the mountains of NC) so she can try it on hopefully buy it. Also Kristen my blogger friend I previously mentioned said she just may have to order it!
The other two dresses are super cute and can be worn to work or out at night! They come in Purple and Grey and are also $55. Can't beat that! I noticed Express has a denim tube dress right now for close to $70 and it's not nearly as cute as the one I'm selling. =)

One of my greatest friends and best blogger I know gave Clothes Hound a shout out on her blog! Thanks Kristen, she writes about her life in the most interesting way and I just love reading her blog and staying in touch with her through it. As she mentions the 50% off sale is still going on and this is on everything in the store including new fall items!!! Hurry though b/c the sale will end September 7th. I have to make room for all the new fall things we purchased at the Atlanta Market! Just use code "end of summer" at checkout.

September is going to be a very busy month for us with a couple of Sorority parties in NC & SC, Fashion show in Charlotte and Shecky's show in Philly. Hopefully you'll be able to find us in a city near you!

Hotlanta

I just got home from Hotlanta, I had a great trip to market and bought some awesome things for fall and winter!!! I am so excited to give you guys a sneak peak....I bought from French Connection, Karlie, Voxx NY, Theme, C. Luce and Ryu! Some of these are new lines for us and I am stoked for you to see them. I got some great, tops, skirts, jackets and tons of dresses!!! There were a few reoccurring themes through out the show including ruffles, sheer fabric, exposed zippers and high waisted pants/skirts. My girlfriend/assistant buyer Dana came along with me, it was great having another opinion on the pieces we saw and purchased, she was a huge help in choosing colors and making final decisions on various styles. The goods will start coming in during September and October so stay tuned!

Carolina International Pageant Sponsor

It looks like I am going to be a Carolina International Pageant sponsor for the month of September!!! The three reining CIP winners modeled in the Fashion Rocks fashion show which I helped put on back in April, they did a fabulous job and all for free!!! These girls rock and I am happy to show my support. Plus it sounds like being a sponsor may bring me some good publicity as well, of course it's not just out of the kindness of my heart that I am giving away free clothes. =) http://www.carolinainternationalpageant.com/

Talking Current Trends and Fall Fashion

I made the trip to Rocky Mount today to talk about Fall Fashion and the Current Trends as part of a womens group that meets monthly. Rocky Mount is not quite the fashion capital of the world or even North Carolina but the women were very excited that I came and seemed to enjoy what I had to say, or at least I hope they did! Here's a quick summary...

I know we are all watching our budgets and want to get the most out of our wardrobe. You can do this by accessorizing! Remember to add a bib necklace, chunky bracelet, chandelier earrings, great bag or stylish shoes to change up what you already own. Studs are in this fall as well as lace, leather, animal prints and the color red.

You can wear your maxi dress into fall by adding a jacket or cardigan but keep it short and sweet. The key is to go short (jacket) over long (dress), especially if you're on the shorter side. You can also swap out your flip flops or thongs for a pair of suede wedges or boots. Menswear is also big for fall. Don't hesitate to put a menswear jacket (think tailored suit coat) over a flowy floral dress. If the jacket is longer you can also belt it.

With fall right around the corner our relaxed summer clothing is about to be nudged aside, your going to want a more tailored, fitted and polished look for fall.

Celebs Heart French Connection

We have some great new items from French Connection and others on order which made me think about celebrities who wear the brand. We all know French Connection is a great place to shop, but it seems we're not the only ones with a love for the high street fashions. It seems French Connection has a large celebrity following from Paris Hilton, Stephanie Pratt, Minnie Driver and Lindsay Price. The prices are unbeatable for such great stand the test of time fashions. The A-listers are going crazy for French Connection!

Above Sophia Bush is wearing the FC "wizard" dress in navy!

Celebrity Clothing Lines

We're influenced by celebrities every day. We watch their movies, listen to their songs and read about their juicy gossip in magazines. But fashion has been the biggest inspiration for today's consumer with celebrities designing fashion lines of their own.

It seems almost all of our favorite celebs now have their own clothing, jewelry or shoe line. Miley Cyrus teamed up with Max Azria and Walmart, Molly Sims launched a jewelry line called Grayce and Nicole Richie has a maternity line. New celebrity endorsed lines are popping up everyday but old ones are dropping off too. Of course Lauren Conrad from the Hills discontinued her line...in my opinion it was a little boring and not worth the money. Heidi Klum shut down her Van Cleef line. I must admit the one celeb designer line I like is Jessica Simpson's, I love her shoes and being the bargain hunter I am, love that you can buy them at Marshall's!

Do you wear celeb brands?

The New Way to Shop

I just got home from the beach, checked the mail and was delighted to see that both my new Lucky and Marie Claire magazines arrived on Saturday while I was away. I was even more excited to find a small booklet titled, "The new way to shop" attached to the front of Marie Claire. It details amazing boutiques and what makes them great and there is also an article about the top 10 outlet malls. I plan to visit the Las Vegas premium outlets when I'm there in December! I got a great DIY idea for displaying earrings and saw a that a local Charlotte boutique, "Capitol" was mentioned as well. All in all this little mini mag got me really excited about my upcoming trip to market and fall fashion in general!

Bathing Suits in Vending Machines???

I just read a fascinating story over at Fabsugar.

Quiksilver has teamed up with The Standard hotels to make co-branded men’s and women’s swimsuits to be distributed via vending machines poolside at the hotel's four properties and online at ShoptheStandard.com.

Joshua Katz, director of marketing and communications at Quiksilver Inc., explains, “This is a 24-hour customer, and a lot of times they might not have a swimsuit but want to take a late-night swim, after the hotel’s boutique is closed.” Ah yes late night, drunk, skinny dipping, we've all done this. Key West, South Beach .... I could go on... but I must say even under the influence I had my bikini in my bag I just decided to go without it. Would you opt for one out of the vending machine?

For added flavor, each design has a "Quik City Guide" on the inside waistband, with addresses of local places of interest. The vending machines will also dispense zines and $10 works of art from local artists. Four men's retro-inspired men's styles will be available as well as a classic black string bikini for the ladies. Step right up.
I checked the website and they do come in various sizes, the board shorts are $75 and the black bikini is $84!!! Wow, I think I'll stick to skinny dipping.
