If you set up a party you'll get 10% of the total sales in cash and the hostess will get 20% of the total sales in free clothing. She is the perfect combination of sweet, cuddly, and independent, and is around 5-6 months old Chihuahua/Carolina Dog mix. She is excellent with other dogs of all sizes, cats, and people, and would do great in any home.

Hound of the Week: Meet Nina!

Meet Nina! Nina is a red brindle, red nose pit bull who is around 4 years old. Nina was turned into a local high kill shelter when her owner learned that she was expecting a child - the sad part is, Nina was also expecting, and was quickly put on their euthanasia list. We pulled her on her last day alive, and she is currently in foster care.

Due to her abusive past (she was kicked repeatedly, and thus has sensitivity issues around feet), she will need a patient, loving person who is willing to work with her. She is the perfect age - still active, but no longer a hyperactive puppy. She is excellent with cats, and good with most other dogs. She would prefer to be adopted with her best friend, a female pit bull named Peeps, but it is not required. Clothes Hound has a BIG charity fashion show coming up this weekend called "Couture for a Cause"!

This is a couture fashion show where local designers partner up with local non profits and design two outfits inspired by the non profit. These designers are super talented and have amazing looks!

This year Clothes Hound is not only a sponsor of the event but our owner Bryce Batts is an esteemed Judge!

Not to mention our local celebrity friend Maggie Alexander from NBC-17 is the Emcee!

Bootsey is a 3 year old female papillion corgi mix. She is about 15 pounds and sweet as can be. Her foster mom has seen no agression in her. She loves kisses and to be petted and loved on. She has been recently treated for heartworm and will be all better and ready for adoption in about a week!

Bootsey is house broken and very playful. She is great with cats and other small dogs. She will adjust to all animals with time. She a cuddle bear who just craves your attention and love. She's a super cute lady!

Fabric Shopping with Sandy Chen!

Clothes Hound sets itself apart by working with local student designers. We want to give our customers something they can't get anywhere else and also give young emerging talent a chance to start their design careers.

We have a new designer to debut! Her name is Sandy Chen! Sandy is a senior in the NCSU textile design program and also works part time as a seamtress at Priscillas of Boston in Cameron Village. While Sandy has entered many design competitions she recently won Couture for a Cause last year and is gearing up for Charleston Fashion Week!

We knew we had to snatch this talent up quick!

So last night we followed Sandy to JoAnn's Fabrics and helped pinpoint some fabrics she will be using to create some dresses for Clothes Hound!

But first we need your help! We want YOU to be involved in the design process and help us choose what designs you like best and also what fabrics you love and could see your self wearing!

We at Clothes Hound distinguish ourselves from the other boutiques by carrying local designers right here from Raleigh! One of those designers is MATINEZ/PEELE!

MARTINEZ/PEELE is the collaboration between local designers Kristen Martinez & Adam Peele. The synergy between these two designers has launched a new and unique style of garment fabrication that delivers a custom, bold, and energetic look which parallels the designers’ personalities.

Currently in Store at Clothes Hound!

The finished product takes on a life of it’s own. Stemming from their talents, blank sheets of fabric are batik-dyed into individual pieces of art. Plain white canvases bloom into bright colors and gradating hues. Vivid illustrations are then embedded with water-based paints, which are screen-printed and treated in their studio. The garments' designs are hand sewn in direct correlation to the sketches and line plans created by the dynamic duo.

Their collections and prints stem from various inspirations. Both designers have intricate backgrounds in graphic art and fashion. Martinez & Peele developed a style they like to call functional fashion, making the perfect blend, a high-end fashion piece that you can actually wear.

Since 2000, when chef/owner Corbett Monica and his wife Julie opened the doors to this neighborhood trattoria, Bella Monica has become an extension of Nana’s table. It is a place where guests become family at our tables and enjoy Nana’s recipes. Clothes Hound had the esteemed pleasure of attending The Art Institute of Durham's spring review of several of the fashion students portfolios. The event was held at Bay 7 which is in the American Tobacco District of Durham.

Several of the Fashion Merchandising students had tables set up showcasing their porfolios which included sketches of models and clothes, trend analysis, trend forecasting and study of fabrics and silhouettes.

The students included internship work from various projects. For example Visual Merchandising experience from retail stores such as Anthropologie and Banana Republic!

We got a chance to chat with these ladies and showcase their projects for you to enjoy on our blog!

It turned out to be a fantastic evening! Clothes Hound was in phenomenal company with other retailers on the board from fashion mainstays such as Anne Taylor, Coach, Belk and other smaller boutiques. There were also independent designers and marketing professionals in attendence as well. The professionals involved were able to give a wide range of opinions and critiques.

First Friday: On the loose with Louise and Mary

If pictures tell a thousand words than these ulta low quality Blackberry photos should speak volumes, so we won't bore you with the details. Louise and Mary of team Clothes Hound set off on a Friday evening adventure on Glenwood South for First Friday.

We started at Gypsy Jule a fab little boutique on West Street. We loved the bohemian and eclectic vibe these ladies adorned the store with. The warmth and friendliness oozed out the front door before you even arrived. It was Mediterrean Night; complete with an appropriate spread of Greek appetizers, wine and strawberries.

We are so stoked to carry an ADORABLE new clothing line from an independent designer! The line is called Judith March! You may already be familiar with her fantastic line but if not, you are in for a southern treat sure to please all the girlie girls out there!

Stephanie Nichols who is a native southern belle from Alabama launched her well tailored and saught after line in 2009.

Stephanie designs her one-of-a-kind prints and styles, not for the runways but for her beloved customers.

We know you too will drool over these lady like designs and styles that are screaming for a summer BBQ or a tailgate worthy event!

Fashion Unchained: Pictures from the fashion show and event!

Raleigh has no shortage of fashion on our local circuit, and this past Saturday was no exception at the Fashion Unchained event held at Artspace downtown!

Since we are the orginal Clothes "Hound", you can imagine how pumped we were to support an event not only showcasing fashion but also the bettering of dogs lives in our local area. The event was put together in order to support "The Coalition of Unchained dogs." This very worthy cause helps build fences for dogs who are tied up outside all day long.

Triangle Tweet Up: Getting our Dance on!

Last night we had the immense pleasure of partying with a great group of local tweeters from the RDU area at the Triangle Tweet Up held at Bronto software in Durham. Everyone was super friendly and we got to spread the good news of awesome fashion and all the fun to be had at our grand opening on June 24th!

Cutting a rug is our specialty! We got the chance to show off our sick dancing skills with the Wi "Just Dance" game. Tyler's Taproom provided a yummy spread of food and drinks. This was a fantastic way to network and get to know all those involved with twitter and social media. We Definitely plan on attending next year and so should you! Don't have a twitter? Get one! It's a lot easier than it sounds! Twitter is a fantastic platform to keep you in the know on everything from current newsworthy topics to sales and events from your favorite stores and boutiques like Clothes Hound!

In case you haven't heard the fantastic news.....Clothes Hound will be opening a store of our own in Raleigh, NC in Brennan station off of Creedmoor rd!
